NOT doing it on the new table.

Because I like Hookers, no wait that didn't sound right. Let me begin again. We purchased a dining room table last night for our breakfast room! It is very cool - the picture above doesn't really do it justice. It is very Tuscan old world style and will go great with our wine/Tuscan themed room. It will be delivered on Tuesday and I can't wait. It expands to a huge size so we can fit loads of family and friends around it for wonderful dinners. Dave wasn't sure about it at first as he likes more conservative, every day run of the mill stuff but he eventually saw his way to my way and we got this table. It is very unique.

I'll let you all know when it arrives and we'll schedule a big dinner, Italian style, to break it in!

    Wait! This is for the breakfast room? I get it now! I thought you were replacing your other dining table when you first said something, as I thought you were looking for glass for this room. Glad I'm all straightend out now! :)

    They did have many cool styles. I was interested in the taller more square style with the flip ovr leaf (similar to the Storks I think), but we needed something more ractangular to fit the room. It has carved legs and a distressed top. The decorative underside looks painted with grapes (also on chairs). Mel almost peed herself when she found the drawers on either end for silverware and cards according to Mel. We considered the 2 side pieces, one being a corner cabinet and the other being the bottom of the hutch, but they won't fit. Not enough wall space. Mel drove a hard bargain too. I believe her quote was "we'll take it." Didn't even bargain for the delivery charge. We weren't in the store for 30 minutes. As for the glass table we were looking for, they had some plus some with tile or granite tops, but I was convinced this was the way to go. Glass gets very dusty very fast as we've found out. The picture as sstated does not do it justice. You will all like it I'm sure.

    Ubie- I was fine with the old one, which happened to be a 6 foot folding table, but Dave insisted we needed a nice table! I couldn't argue.

    Dave - great story! I don't negotiate. I hate it. You didn't jump either!
